Blue Jays Rookie Not Thinking
Posted by admin | Under MLB Friday Aug 21, 2009Blue Jays rookie pitcher Brett Cecil  committed a two base error last night that someone (yahoo’s David Brown) is calling an all-time bone head error. He also says it might take him twenty years to live it down. I disagree.
For one, Toronto is not in the middle of a pennant race, their19 games out and just playing out the season. When your already eliminated, things like that can happen. What he did was, without calling timeout, he threw the ball into the dugout thinking he would get a new ball, and that allowed Jason Bay to move up two bases. Bay later scored and the Red Sox won 8-1.
Since this was not a playoff or world series game like the error on Bill Buckner in game 6 of the world series, most people will forget this in time. The ones that will give him a rough time in years to come will be his teammates. They won’t ever let him live it down.
