Pitching Meltdown by Braves Relievers
Posted by admin | Under MLB Thursday Apr 9, 2009I watched the Braves and Phillies yesterday afternoon and what I saw was simply amazing. I’ve seen relief pitchers come in and surrender runs and give up big leads before but I don’t remember 4 pitcher’s in the span of three outs look so bad.
Those 4 relievers gave up 5 walks, a hit batsman,4 singles to blow a 7 run lead and eventually take the loss. Bobby Cox said ” all hell broke loose” in the seventh inning and Matt Diaz said it was an aberration and you can’t describe it. I can, it sucked.
I don’t know what this will do for their(relievers and the position players behind them)Â confidence when Washington comes to town on friday, but they better let it go in a hurry before it becomes a real problem down the road.
